چکیده
From 08.02. to 11.02.2009, the Dagstuhl Seminar 09071 Delay and Disruption-Tolerant Networking (DTN) II was held in Schloss Dagstuhl Leibniz Center for Informatics. During the seminar, several participants presented their current research, and ongoing work and open problems were discussed. Abstracts of the presentations given during the seminar as well as abstracts of seminar results and ideas are put together in this paper. The rst section describes the seminar topics and goals in general. Links to extended abstracts or full papers are provided, if available.

Some comments on Delay-Tolerant Networking for Space Communications (draft version)
We review and evaluate the main goals and requirements for Delay-Tolerant Networking, as well as the functionalities provided by the newly standardized Bundle Protocol. We identify and discuss a number of open issues, which pertain to the operational properties of the Bundle Protocol for Delay/Disruption-Tolerant Networking. Key issues that we attempt to adress are (i) the type of DTN architect...

متن کاملDelay and Disruption-Tolerant Networking (DTN) II Dagstuhl Seminar 09071 – Executive Summary
Today’s Internet architecture and protocols, while perfectly suitable for wellconnected users, may easily experience serious performance degradation and entirely stop working in more challenged networking environments. Such environments are manifold, ranging from mobile users experiencing occasional or frequent disconnections to communication services for remote areas, to vehicular network comm...
متن کاملPrediction Based Routing With History Based Replication for Disruption Tolerant Network
A delay and Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN) is an emerging network, which handles communications in extreme environments, like space communications and networking in sparsely populated areas, vehicular adhoc networks and underwater sensor networking. DTN routing issues may appear as a standard dynamic routing problem with extended link failure times. To offset this, researchers investigate...
متن کاملDisruption Tolerant Networking Dagstuhl Seminar 05142 – Executive Summary
During the past 40+ years, numerous architectures were developed for network communication, including the ISO OSI reference model and its related protocol specifications and – of course – the Internet architecture. These network architectures have been designed with some implicit assumptions about specific target applications and deployment scenarios. Among the most important assumptions are sp...
